Benedict has once done an internship at a cooperage in Segonzac, a tiny village
in the heart of the most premièred region (cru) of Cognac named Grand
Champagne. It is the smallest cru of the 6 Cognac regions deserving its premier
classification for its chalky soil. Even though Grand Champagne is the smallest
region within Cognac, Segonzac holds a huge number of vintners each distilling
their own Eaux de Vie, the undiluted, unmixed pure distillate of Cognac.
Such Eaux de Vie produced by one of its vintners found its
way into an old Scotch whisky cask. A second fill sherry Hogshead in which it has
rested all of its life in Scotland. A rare occasion to find such a Premier Cru
distillate matured under perfect Scottish conditions in a classic refill Sherry
Hogshead. Presented by us in its most raw form, undiluted, non chill filtered and
in its natural colour.
